OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

We are looking for a super fun, highly enthusiastic, professional, and compassionate occupational therapist who loves to help children reach their potential!

The ideal candidate for this position will possess sharp intuition, confidence, and be forward thinking, solution-seeking, and flexible. A self-motivated go-getter with a sense of urgency is a MUST.

ACME Therapies Co. is a new, upcoming, and GROWING pediatric therapy practice that specializes in speech-language therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy for children birth through 21 years. Through creative treatment sessions, family education, home coaching visits, and school based services, we aim to provide the most innovative and comprehensive care to our clients in the Martinsville/Henry Co. and surrounding areas.

Occupational Therapist OTR/L:
Responsible for all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery and accountable for the safety and effectiveness of the occupational therapy service delivery process

Qualifications (Education/Experience/Professional Certification):
Meet all discipline specific licensure, certification and educational requirements as well as certifications
necessary for any specific arena of practice such as Early Intervention

Requirements:
I. Technical/Work Skills:
• Complete assigned tasks accurately with monitoring
• Complete assigned tasks in predetermined time frames with monitoring
• Follow policies and procedures with guidance
• Basic knowledge of child development and the latest techniques relative to scope of practice
• Basic computer skills
II. Human Skills:
• Communicate verbally in an effective manner with relevant staff and customers
• Respond clearly and effectively in response to requests from relevant staff and customers
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant staff

PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

ACME Therapies Co. is looking for a dynamic, creative and committed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our interdisciplinary therapy team comprised of speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists at our Martinsville location. Position entails a flexible work schedule, providing individual services to children ages birth to 21 years of age with varying disabilities.

Job duties include assisting with assessments, assisting with treatment planning, collaborating with team members, providing parent education/training, and providing direct 1:1 treatment. Desirable candidates must have a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well as part of a team, strong written and verbal communication skills and previous pediatric treatment experience. We offer competitive hourly rates as well as an excellent benefits package for eligible employees which includes medical benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, etc.

ACME offers a multidisciplinary approach to treat a variety of neurological, orthopedic, and developmental disorders. Our services are delivered in the most appropriate environment for the child, whether that is in the home, daycare, school, or in our kid-friendly outpatient clinic located in Martinsville, Virginia.

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for the treatment of patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. PTA must document and record the patient’s condition and educate patients and families in appropriate therapy methods. The PTA collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including OTs, SLPs, and teachers.

Qualifications

  • Must have graduated from an accredited school
  • Current Virginia license as a Physical Therapist Assistant or proactively in the process of the application process for current state licensure as a PTA
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in pediatric physical therapy

Minimum Requirements

  • Virginia PTA certification (or certification eligible)
  • Must have graduated from an accredited PTA school
  • New grads welcome

SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic services for individuals of all ages presenting with concerns about communication delays or disorders.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Evaluate and treat children with various speech, language, fluency, and feeding difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and other professionals.
  • Complete evaluation reports, generate therapy goals, collect data and complete daily treatment notes, summarize progress and effectiveness of treatment.
  • Communicate strategies and suggestions for carryover of skills with families and caregivers.
  • Consult with ABA therapists, teachers and other members of the child’s team.
  • Participate in monthly department meetings, marketing opportunities, etc.
  • Adhere to work schedule and manage caseload.
  • Other duties assigned by immediate supervisor within scope of practice.
  • Adhere to deadlines for documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in Speech Language Pathology
  • Active Virginia SLP License
  • ASHA CCC’s
  • 1-2 years pediatric experience
  • Experience in feeding therapy (preferred)
  • Experience with AAC devices (preferred)
