OUR THERAPISTS

All therapists are specially trained and board certified in specific areas of expertise such as Vital Stim, Beckman Oral Motor Exercise and Handwriting Without Tears. When working with children, they incorporate playful, fun activities into therapy sessions and are fully trained and conscientious to their emotional, psychological and physical needs.

STACI SOPER, M.S. CCC-SLP
CLINICAL DIRECTOR,
SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

  
Staci is an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist and the Director/Owner of ACME Therapies. After over 18 years in practice, Staci, along with Holly Stewart opened her own Therapy clinic in December of 2017. Staci holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Staci attended the University of Central Florida for her undergrad degree. She than received her Master’s Degree from Radford University in 2002. Staci holds a VA state license and is certified in Beckman Oral-Motor and Vital Stim Therapies. Staci has had extensive training in feeding and swallowing for both adults and pediatrics. Staci has been working with children and adults in schools, private settings, and acute rehabs, as well as home health, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient therapy centers. Staci has a passion for working with her clients to improve motor and speech skills in order for them to achieve a better quality of life.

When she is not working, Staci is spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters. Whether a quiet afternoon at the lake or a hectic day of school projects and errands galore, Staci enjoys spending every extra minute with her family. She also enjoys a variety of crafts and making specialty cakes for friends and family. Staci grew up in Longwood, Florida and has lived in Martensville, VA since 1999.


HOLLY STEWART, M.S. CCC-SLP
CLINICAL DIRECTOR
SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

  
Holly is an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist and the Director/Owner of ACME Therapies. After over 15 years in the field, Holly, along with Staci Soper opened her own Therapy clinic in December of 2017. Holly holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Radford University. Holly holds a both a VA state license and and a NC state license and is a member of the Speech-Language Hearing Association of Virginia (SHAV). She also holds specialized training in Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, DIR Floortime, and has extensive experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices and approaches. Holly has had extensive experience working with children with complex communication needs and children on the Autism spectrum. She works with children in the local schools/daycares, outpatient therapy centers, therapeutic riding facilities, and in natural environments. She is a certified Early Intervention provider in both VA and NC. Holly has a passion for working with her clients to improve functional communication skills in order for them to achieve a better quality of life. She is experienced at providing both individual and group speech therapy sessions to help children and teens learn and use appropriate social skills. Her approach to therapy is family-friendly within the motivational framework of play.

When she is not working, Holly enjoys hiking, biking, camping, and spending time in the outdoors. She has an extensive rock and mineral collection and loves animals. She also enjoys traveling. She grew up in Radford, VA and has been a part of the Martinsville/Henry Co. community since 2005


CARRIE WILSON
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Carrie has worked with Staci Soper for several years in the medical field. She joined the practice full-time prior to the opening in December 2017, transitioning into the role of Office Manager, to fully utilize all of her talents. Carrie enjoys working with patients of all ages and abilities and has truly proven to be an asset to the ACME Therapies. Carrie also prepares the design and implementation of office policy and procedure, scheduling, recruiting and training.

Outside of work, Carrie loves spending time with her 3 kids and Grandson. She stays very busy with Church and her children’s activities. She enjoys baking and cooking, crafting, singing and performing in local community theatre, serving as Lobby Leader at her church, and fellowship with her friends and family.


KEARSTIN GRAVLEY
BILLING MANAGER

Kearstin works as the Accounts Receivable Billing Manager at ACME Therapies. Kearstin holds a degree in science from the University of Bridgeport, Roanoke College and a degree in medical billing and coding from Herzing University. Prior to ACME, Kearstin worked at Carilion Roanoke Memorial hospital as a nursing assistant. With over 12 years of experience in the medical field, her knowledge includes all aspects of health care billing, collection, and consulting services for health care providers. Kearstin specializes in outsourced billing, electronic claim filing, claim processing, appeals and denials, collections, reimbursement research, managed care contract negotiation, letters of agreement, and month-end accounting/reporting. Kearstin also works as a Office Manager at Healing Touch Chiropractic & Wellness. Her experience gives her a unique perspective to provide guidance on health care industry best practices.


Catherine Privette, MOT, OTR/L
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Catherine graduated from Radford University in 2013 with her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. She attended Radford University for her Bachelors of Science in Recreation Therapy with a minor in Dance, graduating in 2010. Catherine has been practicing for 6 years, primarily in skilled nursing facilities. Catherine is certified to provide Early Intervention Services in the state of Virginia.

Outside of working, Catherine loves traveling to new places with her family. She and her husband work at Gym 24 in Martinsville where Catherine enjoys teaching POUND classes.


Allyson Eades, MS, CCC-SLP
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Allyson is a Speech Language Pathologist originally from Urbanna, VA. She recently transitioned from skilled nursing and geriatric treatment to Pediatrics and Early Intervention to fulfill her life long goal of working with and helping children. Allyson graduated from Longwood University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree, followed by Old Dominion University in 2015 with a Master’s Degree, both in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Allyson has been practicing for 6 years in skilled nursing facilities with an emphasis on dysphagia/swallowing. Allyson is certified to provide Early Intervention Services in the state of Virginia and looks forward to providing care to children both in the homes and in the clinic.

Allyson’s main hobby is reading, whether it’s a hardcover novel, audio-book, e-book, short-story, or magazine. Allyson loves all animals, specifically her miniature dachshund Winston. Allyson is recently married and lives in Henry, VA with her husband Tyler, a Bassett native.


Nathan Lawless, OTA
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Nathan is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. He graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia in 2019. Nathan is licensed in the state of Virginia and has received his Board Certification from the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy. Nathan also received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry at Radford University in Radford, VA in 2015.

Prior to engagement in his professional career as a COTA/L, Nathan worked at Tackfully Teamed Riding Academy, Inc in Henry, VA in 2012-2013. At this location, Nathan discovered his desire to help children and adults with disabilities. Nathan was first employed in a skilled nursing facility to improve his clinical skills and experience. Nathan is married and has two big dogs. He loves anything outdoors, from kayaking to even enjoying yard work. Nathan enjoys woodworking and will engage in various projects during his
free time.


Charley E.M. Waddell, OTR/L
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Charley E.M. Waddell is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist (OTR/L). Charley grew up in Virginia Beach, VA before moving to southwest Virginia for her higher education. She attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Human Development in May 2015. Charley then went on to Jefferson College of Health Science (now Radford Carilion University) in Roanoke, VA for her occupational therapy coursework where she graduated in December 2017 with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT).

Charley is a high-energy Occupational Therapist (OT) who is incredibly passionate about her role in overcoming deficits to facilitate the highest level of independence in all of her clients.  She works primarily with pediatric populations at ACME therapies but enjoys working with the adult population as well utilizing remediation, adaption, and compensatory techniques to facilitate clients’ abilities to regain independence in required and desired daily activities. Since beginning her career, Charley has been developing her specialization in pediatrics with significant continuing education focusing on sensory integration, praxis, and behavioral responses to sensory processing differences. She is an early intervention certified provider in Virginia. She is an expert at utilizing skilled OT interventions to address foundational deficits in order to assist her clients to be more successful and independent in play/leisure, education, and routine tasks.


Courtney Underwood, OTR/L
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Courtney graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2014 with her Bachelors in Health and Exercise Science. She further went on to receive her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2017. Courtney has been practicing for almost 4 years. Courtney is certified to provide Early Intervention Services in the state of Virginia. Courtney is passionate about providing her
patients quality care to promote and maximize their independence and quality of life.

Outside of working, Courtney loves spending time with her family and two dogs. She also enjoys tending to her indoor plants collection and trying out local brunch spots in her hometown, Roanoke, Virginia.


Hannah Finney, PT, DPT
DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY

Hannah is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who graduated from the University of Lynchburg School of Physical Therapy in 2020. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lynchburg College in 2017. Hannah was born and raised in Henry County. She enjoyed participating in gymnastics, track, and cross country throughout grade school. Hannah has dreamed about becoming a physical therapist ever since a job shadowing experience in 8th grade. She is passionate about treating patients of all ages with special interests in pediatric, orthopedic, vestibular, and neurologic rehabilitation.

When she is not working, Hannah enjoys going to the gym and running outdoors. She also loves hosting game nights with family and friends as well as playing with her new puppy named Tucker!


Jennifer Baum, PT, DPT
PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Jenny is a physical therapist from Roanoke, VA. She studied kinesiology and Spanish at the University of Virginia and then earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Virginia Commonwealth University. After graduating, Jenny completed the VCU Pediatric PT Residency at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond. She has experience working with children in acute care, outpatient and early intervention settings. Jenny is eligible to become a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy and will take the exam in February 2022.

In her free time, Jenny enjoys cooking, taking care of her plants and going to the beach.


Lexie Ratliff, SLP-A
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT

Lexie Ratliff is a Speech/Language Pathologist Assistant. She graduated from James Madison University with a bachelors degree in Communication & Sciences disorders in 2019. Before working at ACME, Lexie worked with many children on the Autism Spectrum, in schools and one on one. Her plan for the future is to obtain her Masters degree & help others find their voice.

In Lexie’s free time she enjoys spending time with her girlfriend & their two dogs, being
outdoors, & traveling.


Tori Ramey, COTA
CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

Tori is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, VA. Tori is licensed in the state of Virginia and has received her Board Certification from the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy. She has experience working with adults and children and enjoys assisting her patients towards their goals. Tori enjoys spending her free time with her family and many animals. She also enjoys spending time outdoors.


Stormie Dula, OTR/L
CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Stormie Dula graduated from James Madison University in 2018, completing her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a minor in pre-occupational therapy as well as exceptional education. She graduated from Radford University Carilion in 2021 with her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. She completed fieldwork in a variety of settings such as schools, out-patient clinics with an emphasis in hand therapy, and community health settings in Roanoke, VA. She has experience working with children of various diagnoses with a primary interest in those related to sensory processing and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Prior to her Master’s degree, she worked in a private day school as a Behavior Technician working with children with behavioral/communication disorders and ASD utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy where she gained invaluable experience. She is passionate about working with children and their families to foster independence and participation in meaningful activities. In her free time, Stormie enjoys hiking,spending time with her family, and spending time with her Pitbull mix, Luna.


Emily Sigmon, M.S. CF-SPL
CERTIFIED SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Emily is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist currently working towards obtaining her Certificate of Clinical Competence. She is a native of Henry County. Emily received her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Virginia in 2019. She later graduated with a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from James Madison University in 2022. She has experience working with the pediatric population in the outpatient setting and with adults in the acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings. Emily is a certified Early Intervention provider in the state of Virginia. Her professional interests include the following: evaluating and treating pediatric feeding disorders, ASD and neurodiversity-affirming practices, and early language development.

Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys exploring new cities and restaurants with her boyfriend and family. She loves to relax by reading and spending time outdoors with her puppy, Olive.


Keri Barnhard, BS, SLP-A
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT

While living in south Florida, I became a certified yoga instructor  in 2007, and lead yoga classes at a cardiac rehabilitation center for several years. In 2012, I became a CNA, and worked for 10 years in home health, private care, and Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Working along side SLPs in a hospital setting, and working with patients who had ALS, sparked my interest in the field of speech therapy and my want to help people of all ages communicate. I then changed my school and career path from nursing to speech therapy. In 2016 I graduated from Broward College and went on to graduate from Utah State University in 2021 with my Bachelors of Science in Communicative Disorders & Deaf Studies.

When not working, Keri enjoys time, hiking and doing outdoor things with her kids, at a yoga class, or spending time adventuring with her family.
